Dr. York is a professor of astrophysics at the University of Chicago. He gave a presentation titled "It's not the heat, it's the humility: the limits of knowledge." He focused on the developments in telescopes throughout the years. He talked about the failures and flaws of some of the different designs. The name of his presentation came from a slip-up where he was trying to say "humidity," but ended up saying "humility." He liked the sound of it, and it sparked the idea for his presentation.
I found the lecture more interesting than I thought I would. It was really thought-provoking and challenging not just in scientific ideas, but in moral concepts. They lured us in with cookies, and I'm glad we chose to go hear about this topic.
