Ashlyn Collingwood - Experience #4

Greenville College Volleyball Game (Greenville College Gymnasium)
September 23, 2014 at 4:30 pm
I attended the game with Emma Shukers.
The picture was taken with members of the Greenville volleyball team.
The game was a fun experience. I had not seen many college volleyball games, so it was exciting to watch the fast pace of the game. At the beginning of the game, there were not many fans, but as the game went on, the atmosphere became more lively. It surprised me how many people came to show their support for the team.
The team Greenville was playing was from MacMurray College. This team did not show the level of skill that the Greenville players did. All of the games were well won. The game ended with Greenville winning the first 3 games out of the set of 5 that could have been played. All 3 of the games were won by a considerable amount.
Even though the game was played competitively, both teams exhibited good sportsmanship. They shook hands at the end of the game and smiled in congratulation to the opposing teams for a game well played. After the final point, both teams came to the middle of the court and held hands while a prayer was being said. It was nice to see that though there might be rivalry, a Christian attitude is to be shown at all times. This is what Christ wants during competitive events.

I enjoyed this sporting event and went to a couple more volleyball games as the season went on. There is a lot of talent on the team and it does not go unrecognized.
